Crocworld a part of Crookes Brothers Limited a JSE registered company was opened in 1985. It was originally build to farm Nile crocodiles (Crocodylus niloticus) to produce crocodile skins for the European markets.
In time some public members wanted to see these prehistoric reptiles. Due to this a second section called “Croc tourism” was opened and a few more animals such a meercats, Black backed jackals and some bird species were brought in for the public to see as a small price. As the park grew a Curio shop and a restaurant was added to the park.
Today the park houses a number of mammal, bird and reptile species making it an entire wildlife experience. |
